I've been running barefoot/sneakers for almost 10 years. The soles are very thin, but that's not a problem if you're used to walking barefoot. The problem I have is that after a short 2 mile run my legs started to hurt where the tarp went under my ankle bones. I came home and put them on for a few days, thinking I just needed to break in my shoes (and feet). At the next race, the stabbing pain intensified from the edges of the tarp giving my legs to the point where I had to limp home. , especially when my foot wobbled sideways on uneven ground. I kept them on for a few more days to let my legs heal but the same thing happened again. I repeated this several times and the result was always severe pain at the edges of the canvas on the outside of my legs. Maybe there is nothing wrong with the shoes and I have a unique foot issue but I ended up returning them and opted for Altra shoes with much better cushioning which is great for me. Also disappointing because I think they look really cool.
