The base snaps in well to keep the mount stable and the spring clips open with moderate pressure to keep the phone very secure on the mount. Additional Notes: * Removing your phone from this mount may require a little practice. I spent many days trying to remove the phone from this mount with two hands. While this takes some practice, I've found that if you place your finger on the top clips, you can remove your phone with just a swipe. The top of the phone would then slide forward and release from the clips. It's not too big, but if you want a fancy mount then this probably isn't it. This car mount offers great customization options for smartphones! I use this mount daily with my HTC Inspire smartphone and will buy it again if I ever need a different phone mount.
