In the quest to find the perfect stand that will hold a large laptop you will find many that are too wobbly, others that are downright poorly made, and finally those that for some reason are so badly designed they will not even hold the laptop once it is set on the stand. This stand answers all of those questions! It is made out of very nice metal material, it is very sturdy when assembled. It is capable of holding a 17 inch laptop without any issue, or fear that the laptop will easily fall off of the stand. The stand does show some bounce, and sway with heavy typing on the keyboard of the laptop, but at no time does the activity feel dangerous to the point that the laptop would fall. For a stationary environment such as a desktop, say in a home office, this would be perfect. The reason I said it was almost perfect, was because it's the first one of these stands that I have seen that was not capable of being folded into a compact form for easy transport when not in use. This stand has to be assembled for use when it arrives, and if you wish to take it somewhere else, you must disassemble it. Aside from that one small problem, this is a nice stand and a good buy if you have the need for a stationary, desktop laptop stand.
