I needed an adapter so I could move pictures from my SD card through my camera to my MacBook for work while in Uganda. Overall, this worked like a charm. I had no issues transferring photos to my Mac through this. The only problem I had was that sometimes you really had to shove the SD card in the slot to get it to be recognized. Even with that nuance, I'd still recommend it. (And recommend traveling with it in a small pouch. You don't want it tossed around in your bag and you can't leave it plugged in your Mac all the time.)
