I bought these brushes to wash fruits and vegetables. I was planning to share with my mother and sister as they live nearby. I have had similar brushes in the past and have always been very happy with this style of brush. That was not the case with these. I immediately noticed that fine fibers, like hair, detach from the brush and stick to the objects to be washed. Pooh! Not what I wanted in my meal. I ended up spending more time examining items to find and removing fibers than cleaning them. I am really disappointed. I cannot recommend these brushes. The fibers are coarse and harmful if swallowed. Even if you were to use them to clean non-food items, the fact that brushes shed fibers isn't a good thing. I don't think those left behind don't need anything more.
