Review on Waterproof Carson BlackWave 10x25mm πŸ” Monocular (WM-025) for Enhanced Outdoor Viewing by Justin Ferguson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Just got it today and I'm very happy. Mine focuses to less than three feet

Received it today and am very happy with it. Mine focuses to less than a meter, but your experience may vary based on your vision. I could read the very fine print on a prescription bottle from about five feet away, so the glass was clear and bright, especially for this price point. I didn't test the waterproofing, but I went outside and looked at the microwave tower on the hill about a mile away and it was easy to focus and observe. At ten times the power, every optic needs to be repaired to get a sharp image, and for that, the BlackWave was easy to get hold of. The focus wheel is solid, but getting focus right is fairly easy. Most trips are on the short end. Mono seems to have more depth of field at the long end. Stepping back a quarter or half turn from the focus wheel will give you a sharp image from fifty meters to several kilometers, but with a little tweaking, focus can be noticeably improved. This device is also useful for observing insects while standing over them or next to a branch. At 25mm the lens is still bright enough to see clearly on a cloudy and dark day. I don't think this mono could be any better for the price and even if you spend several times more I don't see what could be better. It fits my hand well and I'm an ordinary guy. The surface is grippy but not sticky. The included case is made of medium-weight material and feels sturdy. The waist loop is firmly sewn. At this price I'll keep one with me and one in my truck and maybe buy another just in case, you know.

Pros
  • Field of View: 273 feet at 1000 yards | Eye relief: 12 mm | Comes with case, strap and glasses cleaning cloth
Cons
  • Long delivery time
