This also works with my iPhone 3GS! What a bonus! I figured I could just use one of my old iPods. Just in case it's iPhone firmware related, here's what I have: Version 4.1 / AT&T 8.0. If I were to buy an iPhone dock to connect to a home theater receiver, it would cost three times as much. Communicating with the iLive remote control is very intuitive. Best $43 I've ever spent. The design is slim and compact and I love the pull out tray for iPod/iPhone. I don't skimp on home entertainment so while I have it on my home entertainment rack connected to a separate dedicated receiver primarily for al fresco dining in wall and patio / pool and spa speakers but I'm not ashamed to have this next to me with all my high end devices powering my family room home entertainment. The only downside is that it doesn't even come with two cheap AAA batteries. So to test it I had to wait until the next day, go out and buy AAA batteries since all the other remotes I have use AA batteries.
