This is a 9V (grey) version of the alarm clock that easily unscrews from the top. I bought two of these alarm clocks to see if they are really loud. That's how it is. And is it easy to notice the flashing light? The problem with many alarm clocks is that they are not loud enough. Put them in the cabinet under the sink, you may not hear them. There are no problems with this alarm clock. It's very loud, so great for closets, and the flashing light is great for dark places. I was so impressed with this alarm clock that I bought 4 more of them. You may be wondering why, 6 alarms? A water alarm saved me two years ago when the water hose to the fridge broke at a 90 degree connection. So I firmly believe in the value of these inexpensive alarms. Highly recommended
