We have two of these coffees because we love this type of coffee and a vacuum jug is great. There are no problems. However, one day we decided to wash them on the top shelf in our dishwasher (regular cycle) to remove the oils that had built up over time when we washed them by hand. I can only assume the lids are held together with some cheap glue because they BOTH came apart and are now broken. For a long time we only made do with cold coffee. In this state, you can brew, but you have to collect and level it by hand before and during brewing each time. If you try to switch it from open to closed or vice versa, it just spins uselessly. So you have to decide whether to leave it open and cool, or close it and spill coffee every time you pour. Now for the kicker; I decided to squander a new lid as a gift for my husband and I and contacted customer service to find out how to get it. Two days later I received an email reply that I had flipped the bird. very bad. your problem. Bye. For our part, we don't want to create waste just for our convenience, so we're not going to replace the entire block just yet, especially since it's completely unnecessary. Just sell us the %$&*ing cap! We don't ask them to back up their product claims and give them to us for free. We are very upset at the waste and even more at the company's response. No more Bodum products. of which we have several. Hey Bodum! Right at you! (my middle finger is here)
