We have two of these coffees because we love this type of coffee and a vacuum jug is great. There are no problems. However, one day we decided to wash them on the top shelf in our dishwasher (regular cycle) to remove the oils that had built up over time when we washed them by hand. I bought my Bodum over 7 years ago. When moving, after about 3 or 4 years, I lost it and bought an Oxo car, which I really liked. until I found my bodum! Very nice but also a bit disappointing. I've been using glass french presses for over a decade and Bodum is my favorite brand. I wanted to switch from a glass jar to a stainless steel jar for two reasons. The first was to keep the coffee warmer on cold days when the glass mug, even with Bodum's insulating coating, tended to cool too quickly.
