Still learning about die cutting machines

Love that it includes initial project materials and walks you through the steps step by step. In one weekend I went from an enclosed project to creating my own design in the Canvas workspace. Once you get the hang of it, it's very easy to place designs exactly where you want them. I have so much fun just playing with all the possibilities! I just want the canvas workspace to be easier to maneuver, but I'm sure that will come with time.

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • Working speed

Does not work reliably

Very poor quality. First, the roller system that feeds the ScanNCut mat into the machine is poorly designed, resulting in instant wear after 10 uses. Result: The ScanNCut sheet no longer loads correctly into the machine (see image). Secondly, a very buggy software solution without solving the problem with Brother support i.e. the technical expertise of Brother support team to solve the problem is not satisfactory. We returned the car within 1 week.

Mate won't load properly

Bought this car because it was advertised as 'the latest and greatest'. It's a good car and it's very, very quiet, which was another plus for my purchase. After repeated use, however, the mat either did not load or loaded crookedly. Discussed with other users on the Scan N Cut FaceBook page and tried everything they suggested. It will work multiple times, and they will return to the epicenter again. As the frustration grew I decided to return it and get another model. I had fun learning how to…

Oh BREAD. on punching machines

First of all my passe-partout on two sheets of cardboard has lost all stickiness. It was the first day I owned it! Not cool! It should cut materials with a thickness of 3 mm. I was very happy about that because it was going to be the most powerful machine in its price range. If I wanted something with a maximum thickness of 2mm I would go for something cheaper. Tried to cut a 2mm thick cork oak. When cutting long straight lines, it works well. But anything with small changes is likely to break…

Never worked, came back with an error message. No technical support.

This looked like a great product from what I saw on the Brother website and the videos and descriptions. It was the worst retail experience of any product I have ever purchased. I bought a new car and it arrived great, the box was not damaged and then the car came in a different box. Everything brand new, no transport damage. Unfortunately, after reading the manual and watching the setup videos, I turned the machine on and it immediately went into a double failure cycle. It was impossible to…

Cons
  • Very expensive

I tried the CM 350 first and am so glad I got this one instead. The best scanner makes a big difference. In addition, it is easier to use, has more functions and is more accurate. You can also add accessories, e.g. B. a roll feed. At first I thought it wasn't correct at all. It cut off the edges of the stamped images I had scanned. Luckily I found a great facebook group that was very helpful in understanding how to use the device and someone in that group helped me figure out that it was just a

Great features are useless with moving paper and poor instructions.

I really want to love this car. but all the wonderful qualities it should have are useless if you can't keep the paper on the mat and if you don't have precise instructions. I bought my DX just before Christmas. I've read everything I could find to use it properly, but Brother doesn't make it easy to find the right manual. The one I finally found and downloaded doesn't match all the options on the screen, so I often fail to follow the instructions and end up in an "OK", "Edit", "Back" loop. I…

Brother SDX vs Cricut Maker vs Silhouette Cameo 3

Now I have all three machines, they all work great but each one is better for its job so there is no clear winner for all. the best, easiest to use and most powerful software, although you might want to pay extra for extra features and for it to be able to read and export SVG design files (which the other two machines can also cut), so you'll want to create your own complex designs, but Corel Draw or Adobe are too complicated/expensive, you can buy the silhouette. It cuts paper and vinyl well…
