Normal headlights when used correctly.

Good lamps with decent handling. Since it's USB, you can use a large battery to power it and not worry about an outlet. Instead, you'll have to worry about charging your backpack, but that's an option. Modes are pretty decent. There are about 8 levels of brightness, well distributed. Approximately 10 speed levels that control how quickly the colors change from one every few seconds to seizure-inducing madness. NOTE: You cannot control brightness in FADE mode, only in Disk Instant mode. That's pretty typical for this type of light. They have a variety of color options, but please note this light strip is NOT FOR DIRECT VIEWING! This is an array of red, green and blue LEDs, NOT on the same chip (like CREE RGB). For example, purple is some red and some blue. It looks like RBRBRB and not purple if you don't have enough spacing to mix the colors. (i.e. behind the TV which most will be buying this for) ALL the LEDs look the same. There is no mode where one LED is a different color than the others as they are not individually addressable. There are also no band modes or anything like that where they go R, G, B, R, G, B to look like movement. I'm torn about power consumption. The kids may have engaged with this, but I ran out of color after 2 days at brightness 2 (second lowest), permanent color. I think I'm using around 1 watt so this should last around 100 hours with a 20,000mah battery.
