Actually only big enough for dwarf hamsters or robots, but they will have a hard time climbing stairs unless you give them some support. The wheels are very noisy compared to some other products on the market. In general, they like to chew on lots of metal and plastic (which is unhealthy), and as my recent hamsters got older, they generally found it harder to climb stairs, even with the extra makeshift handles. Also, they just don't have a lot of lateral space, so they can't move around too much. Thus, in general, this cage is more visually appealing to the consumer than beneficial to your hamster's health. I prefer products with more freedom of movement and when I switch to one of these my hamsters seem less irritated.
