Review on πŸ”’ Enhanced Faraday Bag for Complete Cell Phone & Car Key Fob Protection - Prevents Tracking, Cloning, Hacking, and Car Theft by Joe Murphy

Revainrating 3 out of 5

High quality product. But.

Very high quality product. It perfectly fits the Galaxy S7 Android phone with the Otterbox protective case, leaving no room for anything else. Quality stitching, stitching, magnets and it looks great. It appears to be durable, but I just received it so I can't objectively defend the durability. I ran several tests. With my phone in my Armadillo Pro-Tec Faraday bag, I called my phone and the cell phone provided could not resolve my phone. which means he couldn't find it. So the call went to my recorded announcement. No recording of this call was found on my phone. With my phone in my Armadillo Pro-Tec Faraday bag, I sent an SMTP message to my phone from another phone. The phone in the Armadillo Pro-Tec Faraday Bag did not receive SMS UNTIL I removed the phone from the Armadillo Pro-Tec Faraday Bag. Here is SNAFU. I used my Galaxy S7 to create a hotspot that I usually use during app development. I put my Galaxy S7 in an Armadillo Pro-Tec Faraday Bag with an active hotspot. I used my development laptop to sniff the hotspot created by my Galaxy S7 and there it was persistent and I connected to the hotspot. Now I give credit to Armadillo for blocking wifi signal on phone as I could not allow internet access from my laptop through Galaxy S7 phone hotspot. Until I pulled the Galaxy S7 out of my Armadillo Pro-Tec Faraday bag. Then came the internet. During this test, I got the SSID and MAC address and other information from the phone. Summary criticism: 1) High quality product. 2) Well designed. 3) Blocks WiFi signals to the phone. /or is disconnected from the carrier.4) Does not block the access point (MAC address, etc.) transmitted by the phone. What does that mean? 1) If you expect the Armadillo Pro-Tec Faraday Bag to disconnect you from your carrier, it will. That means the carrier's network doesn't know where the phone is on their network. 2) SMTP texts sent by someone else (including emails, btw) are queued by their respective servers and eventually sent to you for you to view when your phone is on. pulled from the Armadillo Pro-Tec Faraday Bag.3) Although I didn't do this specific test, having intuitively designed similar IoT boxes, I'm pretty sure that the Armadillo Pro-Tec Faraday Bag based on point 1 above This will also block the GPS receiver chip in your phone from receiving GPS satellite position reports. Note that cell triangulation and GPS tracking are completely different. I contend that from experience the same thing happens to the GPS satellite network signal when the cellular signal is blocked. Apps on your phone can't even cache, queue, or save your location information for later transmission when your phone connects to the internet over a Wi-Fi network. For example, let's say you're sitting at an airport. You put your phone in the Armadillo Pro-Tec Faraday Bag because you depend on it being protected. Hypothetically, I'm sitting behind you with a laptop. I can see your MAC address and other credentials from your Wi-Fi chip on your phone. I'm just saying. In general. Very good product. I was just expecting a better signal clamp.
