This case has a JMicron JMS583 chip, which is good. However, it's a very thin aluminum case that can't absorb heat fast enough, and also the circuit board just slides inward so there's not good contact between the drive and the case (there has to be an air gap in it or it can't slide in will). I think it's just not a very good design. In short, my drive gets very hot and overheats. I'm replacing it with a QNINE case which I think is best for just $5 more and is much better at dissipating heat. Although this case was so warm I wouldn't touch it with bare hands unlike QNINE,
