Mystery Box: Hard Drive Accessories

Pros: Looks good Cons: No instructions or even a schematic were included. 4 screws loosened but could not open. I didn't want to risk breaking it by using a 10 ton press to extrude the inside of the aluminum bushing. waste of time.

Great product after lengthy installation.

Great product after a lengthy installation. The non-magnetic screws and very tight end caps made assembly unnecessarily difficult, but other than that it's a very good product.

No instructions, no obvious way to open it. Let's move on to something else.

Fits my needs but there were no instructions so it wasn't easy to set up and I have no idea how to use the heatsink plate that came with it. The case gets very hot, but I had no problem reading over 300GB when restoring from a backup. I contacted both Amazon support and the seller and a few days later I still don't have the manual. I really don't think the device won't fail, so I'll end up going back and buying something else.

Overheating, questionable design

This case has a JMicron JMS583 chip, which is good. However, it's a very thin aluminum case that can't absorb heat fast enough, and also the circuit board just slides inward so there's not good contact between the drive and the case (there has to be an air gap in it or it can't slide in will). I think it's just not a very good design. In short, my drive gets very hot and overheats. I'm replacing it with a QNINE case which I think is best for just $5 more and is much better at dissipating heat…

Nice quality. Good price. Everything included, even 2 mounting screws.

Received it today and installed a 1TB Silicon Power M.2 NVME drive in it. Quickly setup in Disk Management and tested with ATTO on my small Inspiron 15 5575 AMD laptop. I have 390MB and 430MB/s writing and reading. Not bad and probably limited by the USB connection. The thing is beautiful. All aluminum with metal end caps. The small blue light also shines when switched on. It comes with 2 cables for USB 3.0 and USB C. It is well packaged and well protected. It's not the cheapest device, but the
