Purchased to power my South Bend Heavy 10L lathe. GENERALLY it works fine. I measured it and put it on the lathe, glued it together, and before putting it on I hand pulled it and it grew an inch. It got to the point where I couldn't adjust the pulleys far enough apart by simply pulling and stretching them with my hand. I split the link and clamped it to one of my rafters, attached about 40 pounds of weight to the other end, and connected two round bars. with a belt in the middle and passed it over it several times and stretched it. When I finished, the belt was over 6" longer and about 3/16" narrower. Anyone planning to use it for a project where it will be under stress should do something similar for now. - stretch it whether it is a belt around the waist or a mechanism. Just pinch one end and "rake" it with a smooth object, preferably the other end, and you'll save yourself trouble. whole belt on my lathe, I would buy another one of these and prep it properly now that I know what I know about them.
