The muzzle is made with a heavy mesh and attaches with velcro. I use it on an 8lb cat with a small head. I can get it snug on her head because of the vlecro, but it's big enough that it also fits my 14lb cat that has a lions mane.I'm currently living with a 12 year old cat that has never been trained to have her nails trimmed. Any attempt to cut them and she will chomp on whatever body part she can reach.I bought this hoping it would help but thinking that it was a ridiculous idea that would make me feel silly and gullible. I WAS WRONG! Just putting it on takes her stress down a few notches and completely prevents her from being able to bite.She's still a typical cat contortionist, but this muzzle significantly reduces the chance of bloodshed.
