Fits and lifts well - maybe too well

This is a direct replacement for the liftgate lifters in my '77 924. It kicked in with no problem and raised the hatch window with no problem. The only problem is the closing. Perhaps over time it loses some of its strength and the jar is easier to close. At this point I have to press down on the jar with some force to close it.
