These poles are easy to install and work great. I installed them on my 1986 Porsche 944. It's great that the sunroof stays open again when it's open.

Fits snugly and as others have noted the electrical contact can be rotated into position. Would have given 5 stars except: (1) The brand name is too flashy and screams "I'm not OE." (2) The black paint has come off the shock absorbers in two small spots, they don't look perfect and like new.

This is a direct replacement for the liftgate lifters in my '77 924. It kicked in with no problem and raised the hatch window with no problem. The only problem is the closing. Perhaps over time it loses some of its strength and the jar is easier to close. At this point I have to press down on the jar with some force to close it.

These racks do exactly what they are meant to do! Still, they are MUCH too powerful for an old Porsche 944, they PUSH the glass out of the top of the car's frame. I should have done more research, what you need to do is place a floor scale between the hatch and hull, find the weight and buy racks for that weight. No need to open the sunroof by yourself, you will regret it! It just needs to be held.

Some said the connector was on the wrong side, if you loosen the clip that goes on the round part a little, you can move the electric connector so that he on is the right side of your car. However, they have a lot of lift and I hope they don't damage the sunroof. In fact, it takes two hands to lower the sunroof, so it doesn't seem like the frame is twisting. However, it looks way better than holding it open with your head when you put things in it!

The pistons were supplied in their plastic bushings and arrived in good condition. The metal detach tabs face the opposite direction of the originals, but that doesn't matter unless you want your car to look exactly like most people, myself included, don't.
