Unless I lose it, I'm going to use this for the rest of my life.I bought this with the insert kit, which includes a sturdy cardboard folder with card slots and a plastic insert with a zip pouch on one half and card sleeves on the other. Here's what I love about it:- It is my wallet, notebook, pen case, and paper ephemera collector all in one. No more loose change, pens, and receipts rattling around in my bag. No more heavy notebook to carry around.- It keeps me organized. All of my receipts and…

Perfect Entry to Traveler Style Notebook, but for Field Note Size!

Absolutely love it! An affordable but quality leather notebook alternative to Travelers Notebook and sized to fit the Field Notes booklets! I have an TN passport size cover, but I much prefer this size. That extra inch of space makes a lot of difference for Journaling. This size is still small enough to use as an everyday carry. The leather is very nice. Not thin and floppy like cheaper notebook covers. The finish is smooth not velvety and looks like it will scratch and wear nicely. It is…

Pocket perfect on my review.

My wife bought this for my Christmas present. It is perfect. I have two pocket journals and a folder insert and it carries in my back pocket without notice. It has THAT smell. The texture of the leather aids in keeping it secure in place. The leather thickness is just right to protect the contents and not feel bulky in my back pocket. I have carried every day and the bands are still secure, the leather in showing character but no wear. It is quality at a deal.

Pros

Cons
  • Could be difficult to clean and maintain

this one is okay for a starter, for only one reason.

i don't think it's that giftable since the books that go in it are proprietary. meaning, you have to buy their brand of notebook refills. i got it because i would've liked an extra budget one to have around the house, and when i tried to put my midori inserts, none of them fit. i gave it to my son with a blank newerstore notebook, and he had to cut it. i had no idea that you have to search for their brand of notebook inserts here on amazon. oh well, next time i'll pay more attention at the…

Pros
  • Can be personalized with initials or a custom design
Cons
  • Might be too formal or professional-looking for some casual settings

Searched forever for an elastic spine holding cover without anything else. No pockets, no zippers, no card holders, no sleeves. All these interfere with the page laying flat and they interfere with the writing experience. This style just holds your notebook while keeping the paper cover protected. And the leather they used is lovely to boot. Received mine without any blemishes and well conditioned. Looking forward to seeing how it ages.

Pros
  • ‎4.8 ounces
Cons
  • Could be too cumbersome to use on-the-go

Perfect EDC Notebook

Fits about 3 notebooks inside it. I've currently got it filled with the stock kraft notebook that came with the Journal, a 3.5x5 clairfontaine pocket notebook and a waterproof Field Notebooks notebook. I use one for random things that need to be jotted down, one for journaling, and one for passwords and such. Fits in a wallet pocket. Bought some extra bands to go along with it.

Pros
  • Fits easily into a purse or backpack for on-the-go journaling
Cons
  • May not be a good fit for those who primarily use digital or online notetaking

Beautiful and Affordable

What a beautiful little notebook!5/5 stars for presentation, honest advertising, and quality.Presentation: it comes in a little linen "slipcase”—like a bag, but no drawstring—which is inside a neat little cardboard box. The linen cover and the box are fitted to the notebook so it’s not sliding around inside. It would make a good gift.Honest advertising: as promised, it comes with one insert and an extra elastic band to hold up to three total. (I used some of my own elastic string and some extra

Pros
  • Made with high-quality leather for added durability
Cons
  • Might not be a good choice for those who frequently switch notebooks or journals

An excellent way to carry your Field Notes

I am absolutely in love with this notebook and its ability to conveniently carry three of my Field Notes notebooks at a time. It's simple, high quality, and looks great when carrying around the city and stopping for quick writing breaks. It took me a couple of minutes to figure out how to get all three Field Notes notebooks in there, but after carefully studying the included product photos on its product page, was able to figure it out.Carrying around three Field Notes at a time is not as big…

EXCELLENT traveler's notebook.!

This small, black, traveler's notebook is excellent. The price compared to other brands is outstanding. The leather is of good quality and finished in a manner that will allow the cover to take on it's own character. It also comes with a dotted notebook insert which has thick paper suitable for fountain pens, rollerballs and gel pens. This notebook is a wonderful choice for anyone in need of a traveler's notebook or for anyone looking to give a nice gift to a friend or loved one. They will…

Pros
  • Built-in pen loop ensures you won't lose your writing instrument
Cons

LOVE IT! (and how to use extra band)

Ordered one for myself so I can take notes while doing CASA interviews and going to meetings, without need to carry large notepad and portfolio. It is perfect. I can’t express how much I love it. I have now gone back and ordered more to put in all of the stockings for the teens and adults in my family.I added two extra notepads to each using the extra band that is sent. Here’s how to use the band — put in around the first extra notebook so that the band runs along the center page of the…

A small treasure! best in my review

6 month update: The cover has held up so well! I have carried it every day, tossed in my purse, and even with rough and tumble day to day carry, it still looks great! Love it!----I am a fan of the FIeld Notes brand of notebooks, and have long looked for a cover to carry them. I came across this product and the price was so good, I was a bit suspicious. However, prior reviewers did rave about it, so I took a chance and I am so pleased I did. I'll admit that I was initially disappointed in the…

Pros
  • Adds a touch of elegance to your journaling routine
Cons
  • Could be too expensive for those on a tight budget

It's alright - my new review

For $11, I can't gripe too hard, I got a leatherette cover with a field-notes style notebook on the inside (which I totally wasn't expecting, I thought it was just the cover I was buying). The leather is a bit bottom of the barrel, what I mean by that is that cosmetically it looks like leather, but it's not a very high-quality leather. Again, it's less than $20, so I'm not saying that as a negative or to deter anyone from buying this, it's just something I noticed. It'll keep my notebooks…

Pros
  • Eliminates the need to constantly purchase new journals
Cons
  • Could be too delicate for use in rough or outdoor settings

Perfectly Fits Field Notes

I purchased a Midori startup pack last week, at considerable cost and while I do love that product, I discovered that it did not properly fit my field notes and I'm in the middle of using a number of field notes books and wanted an appropriate cover for them.As you can see in my photos, there is a slight, but significant size difference between the September Leather and Midori pocket/passport size, refillable travel journals. The Midori is about .5cm (1/4") less in width and about 1.5cm (5/8")…

Pros

Cons
  • Could become dirty easily, especially if used outdoors

Good, Bit Soft: my feedback

It's not bad but it is quite soft. Easily scratched but you can rub light ones out with your finger, it adds character overtime but some may hate that. Mine has a rather large production serial on the inside cover, which along with the leather being a bit too soft is why it's not four stars. I'd love to see international sizes like A6 be made. I am going to try to treat this with a fat-wax mixture which conditions and waterproofs the leather which hopefully will also protect it a bit more. So…

Pros
  • Smart, Refillable Design – This small leather travel notebook comes with a notebook insert, when the journal is full, it's simple to remove it and refill a new one
Cons
  • Could fray or become worn over time

Good cover, great paper.

First off, I just wanna be clear that this is not real leather. When you look to the inside of the booklet, it's obviously not split leather, and you can clearly see the cloth backing that they form the faux leather on. Anyways, that's to be expected given the price point, as real leather is going to be easily twice the cost So I'm not taking any points away for that. I just want to be clear in case that's important to you the buyer/reader.Ok, so first impression is that the cover is thick…

Pros
  • Paper
Cons
  • Might be difficult to find replacement journals that fit

Small and perfect for my needs!

I already love this pocket-sized journal cover! I got this in Dark Brown and it actually looks great considering how cheap this was. It did come with imperfections but that's exactly how I like my leather, cheap or otherwise. As you can see in the photo that inside has this kind of long gash on the left. I'm not a fan of any imperfections on the inside but I don't mind it either. As for the outer surface, it was pristine when I received it. It was stiff and smooth. I actually physically curled…

Pros
  • Office Products
Cons
  • Might not provide enough protection for fragile notebooks

This is a great little TN cover!

I really was impressed with the quality and the presentation. It came in a little box that makes it giftable and has a draw string bag to keep it in. The quality of the leather is very good. I used some leather conditioner on it because I always condition and waterproof my covers. I was able to fit three Field Notes books in the cover + a cardboard insert and a plastic card case with a zip pouch and a pen holder. With all that stuff in there the cover closed and covered the notebooks easily. I…

Fantastic value and thoughtful design!

The Traveler's Notebook craze has been hitting some of the fountain pen, art, journaling, and lettering groups, so I wanted to try it out. The notebook cover has a FAR nicer price than the Traveler's company version. The leather is soft, has a nice 'new leather shoe' smell, and has no knots in the areas where a person would write. In the cover is a dotted insert that feathers only a little on fountain pen ink. An extra band is included if you wanted to have up to 3 inserts. This notebook cover…

  • ‎Small
Cons
  • Might not be suitable for those who prefer sleek and modern designs

Amazing Quality & Good Looks (even almost a year later!)

The only qualm I had with the cover over the last year of use is that the band wasn't quite strong enough to hold my pen in the journal - but that was solved simply by adding a rubber band to my pen so it can't slip out.(See picture for reference)The leather is high quality & durable, and soft enough to have a nice feel, but firm enough to write on.As someone with rampant ADHD, I tend to have thoughts that need written down immediately or they'll be forgotten. This pocket notebook helps keep me

Pros
  • Office & School Supplies
Cons
  • Could be too expensive for some people

It’s ok been used also.

Idk I’m kinda disappointed. When I rub the outside the color rubs off so idk what that means and they scribbled on the page then ripped it out but pushed hard enough that you can see it on the next page. I thought this was a new item.

Pros
  • A Travel Journal for Real Life – A compact, more portable design, this versatile leather notebook is made for keeping you organized wherever life takes you
Cons
  • May not come in enough color or style options
