This seemed like a reasonable purchase for a cheap soldering iron that will likely see minimal use. I've had others before that worked well. The package looked good. I found iron, it turned out to be almost useless. I barely managed to heat it enough to melt the included solder. I had to solder two contacts to the battery. Somehow trying different tips managed to get each side to stick, although it looked pretty amateurish mainly due to the poor flow of solder that was too cold. Didn't think tipping was the problem. Make sure the dial is fully screwed in. It was hot enough to burn and bubble with flux, but the solder barely melted the tip.
