We've had this since our daughter was old enough to ride with us and would highly recommend if you're after a rack mount seat Looking for. She's a little baby so this place survived. She still "fits" a six-year-old, although she's about to hit her weight limit. ADVANTAGES: Easy to switch between bikes. We started with two 26" Specialized Hardrocks (I had a smaller frame), matching racks and EasyFit adapters. Changing the seat between bikes was easy. I usually talked Dad into taking the baby. At least I wore it *in my body*. Comfortable and durable materials. The seat is made of foam, similar to the foam used in Crocs sneakers. It doesn't absorb water. This is Goldilocks. The holes in the seat ensure good ventilation. Built-in wheel apron. The seat has a nice "flange" and is part of the seat. Before we bought this, Grandma found another used seat at a used car sale. Problem? No built-in wheel apron. I would have to make something with my own hands because this part got lost along the way. CONS: -- High center of gravity. This is a problem with every rear seat. Our Yepp days at Hardrocks were pretty much over when Kiddo gained over 30 pounds. h too much weight. I recently got myself a Tern GSD (20 inch wheels) and we are a cycling family again. A low center of gravity is paramount. Likewise the pedal support. :-)-- Small feet easily come off the footpegs. Kiddo had a habit of yanking his foot out of the footrest and kicking his father's butt if he didn't move fast enough. The barrel lock is bulky. I don't know who made this design choice, but a cylinder key lock is bulky on a keychain. I lost our keys and had to order a new set from Holland. (That was before the Thule partnership.) It would be nice if the Thule lock cylinders could be swapped out. For belts, a chest buckle could be used. It was a problem when Kiddo was a year old and I was a nervous new mom. I removed the chest buckle from a car seat that had been left on the side of the road, but the design of the Yepp straps made it impossible for me to put them on. TIPS: Get a double footrest. Without them, you cannot put the child in this thing, even if you have a dispute between two people. Easyfit Carrier XL does not work. You won't be carrying around the Yepp baskets and seat. The bike will be too heavy at the rear. If it's just you and the baby, plan to put the diaper bag in the front basket. CONCLUSION: I would definitely buy this seat again. And I would even buy a second one if I could find a deal. We are a family with one child but now that I have a pedal it would be nice to bring a friend or cousin along.
