Works well but 3.5mm sound is not very good

I like it a lot. I recently decided to move my office computer to a VR room, but I still wanted to use my computer for normal functions in my office. This is what excited me the most because it supports HDMI, 3.5mm audio and USB all Category 1 5E. Everything is stable except for the sound. It "works", but at above-average volumes, it distorts badly. Zero bass response. I'm trying not to ruin my ears, but even at comfortable listening levels, I can't listen to music on them. Since I have a Z-Soundblaster, that sucks. I'll try the Soundblaster USB stick to see if it's any better. My guess is that it just isn't capable of sending that kind of power through the pairs it's using. The PoE function is also very useful. All in all I'm glad I bought it, I just wish the sound worked better.
