Excellent quality! for indoor garlands

I wanted to decorate my backyard trellis with garlands and RH inspired me because they sell them too. (Note: These are very similar to what RH sells, so I believe they are from the same manufacturer and are likely sold under an OEM license by different companies). After visiting many stores and websites I found these to be the best available at a good price. I didn't want to settle for something that wasn't durable or easy to install. I saw several others on Revain and other websites but most of them either had bad reviews or the construction material was unreliable. Here are the reasons why I decided to buy them instead of others: 1. They use 14AWG wire (probably the best and most ideal as most house wiring uses 14AWG wire) and have a thick layer of insulation that is durable and is well sealed. This makes it weather-resistant and suitable for outdoor use. While this is probably fine with 16 AWG (for a 24 x 11w 120v bulb the current is only about 2+ amps), I didn't want to settle for anything less than 14 AWG since I'm going to be connecting it to an electric Cable. a box that uses 14AWG.2 wire. The sockets also stick to the cable insulation and it is thick. This will prevent water from easily entering the socket base.3. The length of cord from the end of the fork to the first rosette is about 8 feet. This was necessary so I wanted to wire my house. I needed this extra length to get to the switch box that is prewired with a dimmer in my house. It has 24 sockets in total (the description is wrong as some have pointed out. It does NOT have 25 sockets). Many other sellers have a similar string of lights but with only 15 bulbs (of course if you don't need that many bulbs you can check out others on Revain to save money)5. They specifically state that they can be used with dimmer controls in the instructions (I tested this on my install and they work great with dimmers). If you are buying this line I recommend buying S14 11W bulbs from here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005MYUAAE/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_2 They are sold in a pack of 25 and are cheaper than those most other places I've looked. Although the fairy lights are rated for up to 25 watts per socket, I would go with 11 watt bulbs to save energy. With 24 bulbs, they provide enough brightness for a comfortable dinner party atmosphere in the backyard. If you really want to save energy, you can also buy S14 size LED bulbs, but they are very expensive. Prices range from $5 to $20 per bulb. You would spend that much x 24. Additional Product Notes: - Medium sized rosette base. You can use E27 or E26 bulbs. Just make sure they don't exceed 25 watts. If you are using CFLs and are wired to a switch, do not use a dimmer as most CFLs are not compatible with dimmer switches. You will need to splice the cable and make sure you use a waterproof strain relief connector to tighten the cable. I used a 1/2" switch box, so I bought an Arlington Industries 1/2" moisture-proof strain relief plug. It can be purchased at local electronics stores such as Home Depot. For safety reasons, if you are new to electrical work and unfamiliar with local building codes, it is recommended that you hire a local electrician. North American plug without a ground pin). In general I am very satisfied with the purchase. When it arrived I didn't have any issues with poor packaging or tangled cords as one reviewer mentioned, even though I bought it through Revain and not a third party.
