We needed this for a long trip. Extending the seat with this item gave much needed support to a tall rider with knee pain. There was still some discomfort, but much better than without a pillow. One of the surprises was that the extension is connected to the seat with two elastic parts with tabs that slide between the back of the seat and the base. If you have a seat cover you will need to cut two slits to accommodate this product. The cushion stays in place after sitting.
