This is a huge improvement and hot glue gun over my previous one. I had to do this because my kids are getting old enough that they could theoretically use it, so I had to get something safer and better than what I had. I chose this one for a number of reasons. First, it has an on/off button, the lack of which on hot glue guns has always been a pet of mine. Most of them don't work unless you're willing to spend a little more, but this one wasn't much more, so it's definitely worth it. When the gun is turned on, the red light comes on, so there are no errors either. It has a stand, which is also a necessary safety feature because when you're using a hot glue gun, sometimes you have to lower the gun and adjust your work. It doesn't drip, which is another safety feature and is good in terms of hassle and operation. And not only with glue, like many, but also with an additional tip. This tip comes in handy when you are dealing with small items and the glue needs to be thinner.
