I bought this remote control for my mum to use when she is battling Alzheimer's. It's close to a "simple" design, but there are a few tips that can help. There is no mute button, it just confuses them. 2. There should be a separate "On” and "Off” button with words printed on it. 3. Instead of the abbreviated version of "vol" should be the words "Sound Up" and "Sound Down". And 4. maybe just a button that says "Change Channel". below - it only matters that she can look at something as it maintains her attention/"connection" with the outside world. Please note that this was a very, very basic remote control that could be adapted to your new TV. It's easy for me or another caregiver to turn the remote back on if they've somehow changed their connection to the TV or are on a dead channel. If her troubles continue, she won't be able to use the remote anymore, no matter how basic, but with a few tweaks she could be in touch with her surroundings for a while longer. Thanks for suggesting this remote control. This is a step in the right direction. We'll help her use it while we can. World. D
