If you are a kayaker, this kind of vest is your best choice. Those with full shoulder buoyancy don't work as well because their pauldrons stick up toward your ears, making paddling difficult. I am very happy with the quality of this vest, it is well made, has reflective strips and looks like it will last a long time. This is a side zipper which I like because there is a front zippered pocket for small items. I use for my phone, I put it in a separate waterproof case for emergencies. I bought a size small to medium (S/M), I'm 5ft 6" and 125, I got all the straps on about halfway and they fit well and fit like a glove. roll or splash. I have checked the prices of other vests, even other Stallquists can be much more expensive. I think it was a great buy for the price ($95)
