Review on Avenir Joytec Weinmann Nutted 26 Inch by John Larsen

I bought this balance bike to complement the same rear wheel I received last week. The wheels are genuine, correctly tensioned, bearings are perfectly fitted. I didn't want the stainless steel spokes to rust (they are stronger too). The wheels were well fitted from the start. They fit tire sizes from 1.5" to 1.75". I've moved my 1.75" tires and tubes with no problem. These rims use 13mm rim tape. I could use 17mm tape but I would recommend 13mm rim tape to make your life easier. There are absolutely no hard spots anywhere. The brake pads are smooth compared to some wheels which have a slightly distorted roughness where they were welded (I hated the pulsing and vibration caused by that little imperfection when applying the brakes on the wheels that I had replaced). Axles are American standard 3/8 x 26 per inch threads. They use a long arm tapered bearing (important if you need to order replacement axles in the future). Rubber boots protect the bearings from dust, water and dirt. They are light and look good. I only ride them to work so I can't confirm how they stand up to the abuse on the track. I have Revain Prime so shipping was free. There were other wheels that cost less, but I switched to stainless steel spokes, alloy wheels, and armored axles for about $10 more per wheel. I think it's a great buy for a little more than what you pay for regular " pay for starter wheels.
