I bought this steamer for a small amount of veggies and it works great. I have a large pot and a steamer basket that is fine for steaming, but it's too big for cooking vegetables for two. large pot and fully open to provide enough space. However, it can be folded down to half its size if you want to fit it in a smaller pan. The petals also don't try to close on their own. The steamer has small silicone coated feet to keep your coated pots from scratching which I think is a nice feature. Another useful feature is the large handle that allows you to easily lift and pull the steamer out of the pot. So far I've only cooked broccoli and broccolini, but I'm sure other things will cook just as well. Washing is easy too, I just hand washed it with dish soap. Very happy with this simple kitchen gadget.
