Review on πŸ”Œ Electric Fuel Pump Assembly SP2007H for 1990-1997 Ford F150 F250 F350 (18 Gal Tank) - Replace with Ease! by Daniel Anderson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Looks like a good unit, minor issues

Overall this is a direct replacement for my 97 F250HD. I bought both a 17 gallon center tank pump and an 18 gallon rear tank pump. Not difficult to install, I removed the bed. only 6 bolts, 6 screws and wires, also allows you to pressure wash under the bed and easily swap out shock absorbers or mufflers if needed. Problems: instructions are inadequate, font too small to read, doesn't explain that rewiring may be needed. That's why I didn't give 5 stars. The rings and the gasket were the right size. Both transmitters had the sensor on a 1997 F250 HD which showed the opposite when finished. To fix the pressure gauge you need to do a little rewiring. I used the piece of wire that came with it and soldered it to the old pump's connector to make an adaptive harness. [Someone else commented that they did the same - this guy is a genius.] Or you can plug the new socket directly into the pump (requires cutting new wires) OR, if you have time, take one end of the socket apart and rearrange the wires, then put it back together. I decided to make a new wiring harness because one day I may have to replace the pump again and hopefully will have a straight connector. Before replacing the bed, it is recommended to do all the wiring and make sure that the instrument readings are correct. They dropped the tanks according to the book - live and learn.
