96 Fuel pump Ford f350

Item came with plastic fuel gauge float bracket defect. I was able to remove one from the old fuel pump and put it in the new pump. The company needs to pack the pump more securely for shipping to avoid breakage of the parts.

Pros
  • Replacement parts
Cons
  • Waiting too long

The pump and jumper were good but I went with the original mounting tubes and plate as their quality of attachment to the tank was better. The locking tabs on the new mounting plate didn't snap into the tank at all, but everything else worked fine. I give 4 stars because I could use it but not 5 because I had to use some old and some new parts to get it to fit perfectly.

Pros
  • Fuel Pumps and Accessories
Cons
  • Requires socket

Pump works but float arm clamp broken in transit

Pump works normally but float arm clamp has broken in two. All I had to do was remove the one I took from the pump and bend the contacts out a little so they make good contact, then test the resistance between the blue wire and the metal plate by moving the lever and 0-160 ohm received. Installed and got the sensor readings again. No wiring had to be done on the 97 F250 HD, the existing wiring harness was fine.

Pros
  • Automotive
Cons
  • Will not fit

Looks like a good unit, minor issues

Overall this is a direct replacement for my 97 F250HD. I bought both a 17 gallon center tank pump and an 18 gallon rear tank pump. Not difficult to install, I removed the bed. only 6 bolts, 6 screws and wires, also allows you to pressure wash under the bed and easily swap out shock absorbers or mufflers if needed. Problems: instructions are inadequate, font too small to read, doesn't explain that rewiring may be needed. That's why I didn't give 5 stars. The rings and the gasket were the right…

Pros
  • Fuel system
Cons
  • Expensive
