My teenager decided on these and I couldn't help but smile because they look so much like the pair I had in the 70's. He loves retro. The red is very light. Following the advice of other reviewers we ordered a half size up and they do fit a bit loose although he's fine with that so in our experience they are true to size. Give them some time to get used to it and they'll be quite comfortable.
