This does indeed work to repel lice. I keep this and the after-shampoo-spray in my house at all times to use on my grandchildren when they spend the night. Last year at their school it seemed they had an on-going lice problem. Once you get rid of the lice, use this to maintain. (BTW, the major lice eliminating products use different poisons so if you are having trouble killing the lice initially, switch to a different product that uses a different poison--we learned this the hard way.)
