As soon as I activated this alarm according to the instructions it started roaring in my ear. If you click silence it will only pause for a few minutes (not 10 as instructed). I tried an emergency disable and the only effect was to go into continuous alert mode. Since I couldn't return it, I declined the return option and just smashed it with a hammer (which seems dangerous, but what were my options)? $20 a pipe during the tightest financial times of my life. In my smoke-free, low-humidity home, there was no good reason for the alarm to go off. I will never order a smoke alarm online again. The installation was as advertised, I will give it to you.
