Update 05/2020: It took so long. Since the first review and until now. The large front burner will not turn on now, but the signal light will remain on. So now I have to figure out how to replace the burner. I wanted to have such a (smooth flat plate) forever. I thought this would be the solution to all my troubles with keeping my cooktop clean. But I was wrong! This thing pounces on food like it's nobody's business. This happens within seconds before it has time to cool down so it can be erased. He does that with everything and everyone. For example, if you boil potatoes, god forbid they will boil away (which seems to be a ritual practice in my family), the water will evaporate immediately and what's left will be caramelized on potato starch. This or leave an empty heating pan, you may deform the glass. I use cast iron that I seasoned right on the stove - I can't do that anymore. In fact, I'm generally afraid of using cast iron as I could potentially drop it and break the glass. It's impossible to regulate the temperature as the burner stays hot when it's hot because it's glass and not glass. cool as fast as metal. So if you bring something to a boil and then try to bring it to a boil, it will keep cooking longer than you expect. This is for patient people who try very hard not to spill or shake pots on the stove. But now I'm stuck with this, so I'm going to find out. Still, I love the flat surface. I wish there was a way to include this and the durability of an electric or gas range. It would be perfect. All this to say that it performs just as well as other glass hobs and looks beautiful when kept clean (may the force be with you). I also like that it's not digital but has pens.
