The most important thing is that you need 3/4 inch clearance for this latch to work with your gate. I liked this latch because I have a wooden gate with a wooden gate jamb, so I could sink the latch 1/2" into the jamb, so I only needed a 1/2" gap between my gate and the jamb. This is a solid latch and I expect it to give years of good service is powder coated and comes with quality screws. I haven't bent the handle yet, but plan to do so so no one gets stung by the long handle. I tried to position the handle at a medium height, the risk of facial injuries is minimized. I also installed the self closing spring hinges sold here at Revain and this latch works well with them. I would recommend this bar to a friend and would buy the bar again.
