I no longer fret that the blade doesn't reach the ground! An extra quarter inch or so is the ideal design. It extends so far that you can actually hear it scratching the bottom of the bowl the first time you use it. Once it's been shuffled a few times, you'll forget about it. I wanted a device that would touch the bottom of my 6qt and give a quick record of what I was mixing. Now that I have this device, I can easily whip butter with powdered sugar. To me, this is way better than the paddles that came with my Kitchen Aid bowls. The material is durable and easy to clean.
