Powerful device in a small format. The trackpad is great, there is nothing quite like it on Windows laptops. The factory calibrated screen is a blessing, very nice to look at! Gaming performance is excellent, the sound it produces isn't so much that it stings your ears. Booting up helps, but then plug in the TB3 dock, then the fans start spinning again, goodbye, quiet workspace. A gaming laptop with HDMI but more of a display port so I could connect a 144Hz display directly without forcing the fans to spin when using the displays through the TB3 dock. Be careful when lifting the laptop as you can bend the aluminum case. into fans. Battery is great if you know how to set up Windows. The included power adapter is custom built by Razer, which is a big plus. Many other manufacturers will offer you cheap third party oversized plastic bricks but not this one. I just wish the connector was round like Dell's to allow the cable to move, the cable is very thin and the angled connector gives me a headache, it could be improved! At the time of writing it appears to be a BIOS issue, it prevents the installation of new Nvidia drivers, works with drivers that are months old and is causing problems in my environment. The bios is also completely locked, the only options being a password and enabling/disabling Turbo Boost. A little lackluster for a high-end laptop like this, I think it shows who the audience is. I love this laptop but it will probably be my first and last gaming laptop until these things can run quieter and cooler. All you need is a basic Nvidia hardware video decoder and you can play via a Steam or Parsec link, but it's nice when you're on the go. Let's see how she holds up. UPDATE: Noise when connected to TB3 docking station is unacceptable. Even when hibernation resumes, the screen often looks like the one shown above and requires a reboot. With a TB3 dock attached and two external displays, you CANNOT boot with the dock attached, disable it and you will have to adjust the display configuration every time you start Windows. You'll need to disable the Intel graphics while gaming as it won't switch to Nvidia, leaving you with black screens when disconnected from the TB3 dock, requiring another reboot. Noise, and only noise, is a factor for me never to buy a gaming laptop again, even doing trivial tasks when plugged into the docking station just spinning the fans. All temps look fine, everything is under 40C so why it should make such noise when connected to the dock I don't understand. Now I cannot recommend this laptop! (from 4 stars to 1)
