Review on Bridgeport Mounting πŸ”§ Brackets by Mitutoyo - 053906B by Ian Iknokinok

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Fastening material is annoying.

The device must slide smoothly over the coded bar to function properly and must not bend the fasteners as the device slides. When the device is lightly attached to the base plate, it moves smoothly, but when it is tightly attached to the base plate, the device flexes slightly because the base plate is not properly adjusted. Two things stand in the way of a good fit. First, the two countersunk holes are too shallow and their screw heads protrude beyond the backplate. This can be corrected by deepening the countersink. The second, also described by another reviewer, is the identification sticker on the back of the device, which is sandwiched between the device and the bottom panel. I decided to sand 0.020" from the base plate everywhere except for the holes around the holes which left room for the decal. A good machinist can figure everything out and make adjustments, but for the price you don't have to.

Pros
  • Great value for money
Cons
  • Large and bulky
