Well, I've been sitting on this rock for five years, and it has never let me down. With a decent video card, it will be able to run modern games in 2022 with playable frame rates (though not at ultra or high settings), and I used it for gaming and schoolwork about equally. DDR3L with a Radeon R7 265 2GB graphics card and 8GB of RAM was able to play all free-to-play games (dota 2, cs go, fortnite, etc.) at medium settings (50 frames per second) and at low settings (35 to 50 frames per second) with ease. I would have kept it for another two years if the motherboard and video card hadn't given up on me. But I had to switch to Ryzen, and I couldn't be happier with the decision; the fx has done its job and can now be put to rest. To be more specific, I used to have a DeepCool gammaxx 200 cooler; many reviewers claim that it runs quite hot, but I never got it beyond 75 degrees Fahrenheit—partly because I was using an antiquated, poorly ventilated case and partly because my cooler was covered in dust. If you keep the percentage under control and vacuum the case at least once every six months, you shouldn't have any issues with the temperature, which was between 40 and 65 degrees.
