Review on Fellowes Powershred Cross Cut Shredder 4605801 by Jake Jones

Much quieter than I expected

My old shredder was $20 and I bought it in the 1990's. It was little used but eventually burned down. This shredder is so quiet it amazes me. It's not so quiet here that you can listen to the radio or have a casual conversation without raising your voice, but I'm happy. At work we have access to a grinder that is much, much quieter so don't expect too much from it and remember that it costs less than $100. I don't limit the number of pages or the duration of continuous shredding, so I think it will last a long time. He also has no problem chewing staples. I don't use the bucket that goes under the grinder, I mount it on top of a 30 gallon trash can. I use a 3D printed part to bypass the safety switch to allow the shredder to work without a bucket.
