The specialized Stumpjumper 2021 has a tapered bore at the axle entrance; Therefore, this flat flange thru axle cannot be tightened to the frame. I didn't realize it until I had all sorts of shifting issues. It may look like the axle has been tightened, but when you squeeze the left and right sides together it actually has a little play. Lesson learned. I didn't send it back as I could easily use it on another bike. The picture shows a specialized original axle with a conical design in the head.
