They are quite bright in their own right, feel good in dark places with no light or low light, great for reflecting the roadside snow. I use them every day and they suit me perfectly. They don't generate enough heat to melt the ice or slush that's stuck to them while driving, but otherwise do an excellent job. I recommend cleaning them with a home made 4 in 1 multipurpose cleaner like (Lysol) and a microfiber cloth, anything else can scratch or tarnish the lenses and ruin light clarity, it doesn't. t oxidizes/burns lenses like Windex or other glass cleaners. I use Lysol Yellow 4 in 1 All Purpose Cleaner to clean my headlights as well as my headlights and it seems to be doing a great job! And yes, my town recently started using melted ice with sodium chloride, so the Lysol cleaner is doing a good job. My photos show the lights as they are in a regular photo from my phone, not the one with the light filter off to show a little better clarity.
