Bought this can opener in March 2019, used it almost completely on a few cans a month. It's November 2019 and it happened. The main gear that turns the wheel that turns the can is broken. Remember that this is the most important component of a can opener after the blade and magnet. It is made of cheap white metal or thick plastic. It's sad as the device was excellent in every other way, but come on, just a few months and a few cans a month and it breaks? I'm trying to contact Hamilton Beach as it's under guarantee but I can't hold my breath.
