Review on ๐Ÿ”ฅ PowerStop S2584 Caliper: Enhanced Performance for Optimal Results by Steven Wood

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Small nicks so the finish is definitely not perfect. 2) Caliper brackets that hold the brake.

Just completed the installation of Power Stop S2584 calipers with matching rotors and pads on a 2007 Acura TL. Rotors and pads are sold as Autospecialty KOE2292 at Revain which I also installed with this caliper kit. In general, the kit is complete, everything you need is included, including copper washers for the brake lines. You will only be reusing the two bolts that attach the caliper to the spindle. I gave this kit 3 stars for two reasons: 1) The calipers themselves had red imperfections. They appear to have been marked before being shrink wrapped and boxed. I'm assuming this happened when it was pressure tested or moved/displaced at the factory. Small nicks so the finish is definitely not perfect. 2) The caliper brackets that hold the pads needed some sanding to fit the Z16 pads. I used a similar paint to touch up the areas I sanded to prevent future rust. Interestingly, one side of the two pads slid well while the other side was 1/16 inch too tight. As far as I know it's the powder coating. For me this wasn't a big problem or a time consuming problem as I have many tools to deal with any situation. But for those installing it with basic hand tools, this will be a hurdle. If you too are faced with this situation, you will need a Dremel or a grinder. This is unacceptable in my opinion as anyone who has worked with a coating knows that crevices worsen after coating. In general, the kit has a good price and a complete set. Looks good if you want red, but not enough to get more than good from me. I've had good luck with Power Stop rotors in the past, but this is the first time I've tried other products.
