I am so amazed by the quality of this hair clipper. I didn't want to order them because I thought they weren't good for the price. I was wrong. My son has very thick hair and over the past two years we have purchased several expensive name brand machines. After a while, they became very uneven (that is, with proper care), they were difficult to use, and the sound was loud. My kid has autism so the clippers make him so loud it only makes it harder to get a haircut. When I was looking for new hair clippers, in addition to sound, I was also looking for cordless and light ones. They met all my needs and more. I used them right out of the box. Clippers are easy to use. I really like the scale on the bottom that allows you to adjust how snug the blade fits around the neckline. Other clippers only have one lever with two settings, this one has a dial for multiple settings. Again, the sounds were much better than the others (still sounds, but quieter). Getting around the ears is very easy (which is very important for us because this has always been the hardest part for me). Finally, the overall cut of his hair is the best ever. The striking difference between other hair clippers and this one is the look of the hair! Although we've only tried them once, I'm very impressed. For the price unbeatable!
