We have many coasters, including new ones. it just doesn't work. Place a glass of iced water or iced tea on top and moisture/condensation will settle on the stand immediately. We received it and immediately tested it with glasses of iced tea, iced water and other cold drinks. There was no condensation on the pads. They were so dry I had to check to see if there was actually condensation on the glasses! (It did.) Not only do they work, but they are prettier than the photos in the product description. My wife has ordered me to buy more as soon as I finish this review. With all the talk of fake reviews and this review being so enthusiastic, I want to assure you that we did not receive it at a discount and we did not take advantage of this review. We just really liked the product and wanted to share it.
