I tried at least three other products that were all total crap and did not work at all in my attempt to add a second external monitor to my laptop-based work station. I was easily able to add my first external monitor from my laptops built in HDMI port. However, adding that second one wasn't so easy because I did not have a VGA or display port. After seeing mixed information on whether USB 3.0 could output display in any way, I decided to bite the bullet and try this product.I plugged it into my USB 3.0 port, plugged an HDMI cable into the other end of it which then connected to a second external widescreen monitor. It worked perfectly.Just got a new laptop and it works with that one as well.For more info, the first laptop was a 2017 (or 18? Not sure if it matters) Acer Nitro 5 and the new one is an Acer Helios Predator 300.Perfect picture with identical performance to a straight up HDMI connection. Zero lag.This rocks. Don't buy the cheap knock offs. This works.
